What we do
The Drawing Room is a San Francisco based arts organization that provides opportunities for local artists. By providing space for artists to share their work, events to have dialogue about the work, and a place for people to gather, connect and learn from one another, we hope to inspire and elevate the human condition. Art should be part of the daily fabric of life.
We currently have 2 locations of exhibition, event and studio space:
The Drawing Room Clement, located at 210 Clement, is a gallery and the home of Studio Renée DeCarlo. The artists shown in this space are found through our open calls for art that take place Annex. You can find the complete collection of works HERE.
The Drawing Room Annex is currently located in the heart of the Mission at 780 Valencia Street - our temporary home where we are host to large exhibitions typically based on open calls to local artists. Click here for our HOURS and EXHIBITION WORKS.
Our calls for art are currently centered around topics that are relevant to all and tying us all together: the earth. We are currently in our 6th exhibition this year, SEA - a show of over 150 artists, with music performances every Friday and Saturday evening and Artist Talks on Thursdays - please check our EVENTS page for more information. .
The Drawing Room has partnered with San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) to create a "learning space" internship program with high school 11/12th graders from various high schools in San Francisco. This program aims to give students an introduction and solid footing on a path towards a career in the arts, whether as a creator, entrepreneur or administrator.
The Drawing Room is fiscally sponsored by the Intersection for the Arts. This sponsorship allows tDR to act as a 501(c)3, allowing us more opportunities for fundraising and support. Patrons of the arts can now donate and sponsor tDR with a tax-free donation HERE.
We look forward to seeing you and connecting with you!
